Todd Brockwell

Todd Brockwell, CFA, CPA

President

Todd has over 25 years of experience in investment management and has primary responsibility for client portfolio management. Prior to joining 1900 Wealth, Todd’s experience includes positions with HEB and Ernst & Young Management Consulting. He also managed equity and fixed income portfolios for pension and benefits plans for AT&T. He served 10 years as Chief Financial Officer for a single-family office with diversified investments in financial assets, real estate, private ventures, ranching, and oil & gas before founding Brockwell Family Advisors. Todd also shares his time and leadership with non-profit organizations in the San Antonio community. He is Vice Chair on the Board of Trustees for the San Antonio Academy, Executive Committee Member of the Board of Directors for the San Antonio Zoological Society, Executive Committee Member for the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, and Board Member of the Auditory Learning Foundation. Todd also serves as trustee for a family foundation based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. Todd and his wife, Karen Butt Brockwell, have two children.

Richard has been in the financial services industry since December 1991.  Prior to joining 1900 Wealth, Richard was the Chief Compliance Officer for Investment Professionals, Inc.  He also worked for H&R Block Financial Advisors in San Antonio as a branch manager.  Richard graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Finance and is married with two children.

As Senior Advisor, Dan brings a deep understanding and technical experience in counseling high-net-wealth individuals and families on all aspects of their wealth management needs. Dan advises clients on how to establish and implement an agenda to prioritize financial-planning strategies. His knowledge encompasses a broad range of wealth management practices, including the use of complex tools such as trusts and partnerships in estate planning and techniques to help minimize income, gift and estate taxes. Dan retired from a 27-year career with the global accounting firm KPMG and was a founder of Slattery Perkins Ramirez PC, where he served as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and tax partner. He led the firm’s personal financial planning practice in its San Antonio, Austin and Corpus Christi offices. Dan’s experience includes counseling owners and executives of closely held businesses. He also counsels individuals on their personal financial issues, including real estate and income tax planning techniques. Dan received his B.B.A. degree with Highest Honors from the University of Texas at Austin and Master of Professional Accounting-Tax degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Chris is responsible for developing and implementing 1900 Wealth’s strategy for long-term growth and operational excellence. Prior to joining 1900 Wealth, Chris spent over 12 years with Accenture where he led and managed business transformation projects for Fortune 100 and 500 companies. He was also the president of an oil field chemical and service company.  Chris graduated from Texas A&M University, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Finance. He has served on the San Antonio Petroleum Club Board of Governors. Chris also contributed his experience and time as a coordinator/volunteer for Junior Achievement and as a coach for a youth sports team. Chris is married with 3 children.

Matthew Richter

Senior Investment Advisor - Alternatives

Matt has more than 20 years of comprehensive experience in the investment field, including expertise in a broad range of alternative investment types. He has primary responsibility for developing and managing 1900 Wealth’s innovative alternative investment platform, cultivating relationships with new business clients, and advising existing clients. Matt is adept at analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of each investment strategy and providing clients sound, highly-personalized advice on how to grow capital while minimizing risk. Prior to joining 1900 Wealth, Matt spent nine years as Senior Portfolio Manager and Treasurer of an Austin-based family office, where he oversaw and managed public equity and private alternative asset investments in various industries. He was also executive director of MKM Partners in Austin, where he built and leveraged relationships with institutional clients, hedge funds, and pension funds. He also served as Senior Vice President of Westlake Securities Inc. for two years and held various institutional equity roles for Stifel Financial Corporation in Denver, Colorado.  Matt graduated from Colorado State University with a B.A. in Economics.

Bryan has 20 years of experience in investment management working in wealth management and trust departments. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and Certified Wealth Strategist® professional. Bryan also holds the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor certification from the American Bankers Association in addition to the Accredited Asset Management Specialist and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor. Bryan graduated from Arizona State University with Summa Cum Laude honors in 1998, with a B.S. in Finance. Bryan is married with three children.

Miles has 11 years of experience in investment management and is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. He graduated from Texas Tech University with an undergraduate degree in English and a master’s in Financial Planning.  Miles grew up in Amarillo, Texas, and is married with three children. When not working, he enjoys spending his free time running, playing tennis, reading, and gardening.

Bella serves as Client Services Assistant and handles day-to-day administrative and operational functions in addition to supporting Mr. Brockwell. She has been with 1900 Wealth since 2015 and continues to work with clients on a daily basis. Bella was raised in the western United States but spent most of her life in San Antonio. She attended St. Mary’s University. Outside of work and spending time with her two children, she is busy volunteering at several local non-profits and is an active member of Christ Episcopal Church. Bella also enjoys yoga and outdoor activities.

Carol joined the 1900 Wealth team in 2021, after spending most of her professional career in executive and administrative support roles in various specialized industries.  She serves as a Client Services Assistant for general client matters and oversees the various aspects of alternative investments.  Carol is a “born-and-raised” Texan who grew up in the Lost Pines (Smithville/Bastrop) area of central Texas, but she has lived in Bexar and Comal Counties for the past 37 years.  She and her husband reside in Spring Branch and enjoy spending time with their daughter and granddaughter.

Katie Richards

Quality Control Lead

Katie joined the 1900 Wealth team in 2023, after spending most of her professional career within the fields of finance and business management. With extensive experience in planning, executing, and finalizing Advisor transitions, along with conducting custodian policy, procedure requirements, and managing workflow accuracy, Katie is equipped with the knowledge necessary to serve as Quality Control Lead. Katie is responsible for ensuring data and account accuracy, handling technical issues, and providing oversight and guidance to support staff and Advisors through the preparation of documentation for new brokerage, retirement, complex, and managed accounts in accordance with Custodian service guidelines.

At the end of 2022, Katie moved from Nebraska to the great state of Texas, where she is looking forward to all of the opportunities and experiences it has in store for her. She and her dog Stevie are quite the adventurers and are always looking for new and exciting things to do and see, particularly around her new hometown. Katie graduated from Bellevue University with a Bachelors of Science in Business in 2018.
