SAN ANTONIO BUSINESS JOURNAL – Jefferson Bank’s wealth management arm will move into the regional financial institution’s future Broadway office tower and is getting a new name to match its future home.
Monticello Wealth Management, which builds investment plans for high-net-worth individuals and families, is now known as 1900 Wealth and will move its offices into its parent’s new headquarters at 1900 Broadway St. next year. It is currently based at Jefferson Bank’s northeast office at 1777 NE Loop 410. The rebrand will not have an impact on current or prospective clients’ portfolios, the firm said.
“We wanted to simplify our name and change it to something that signifies the location of our new headquarters and directly identifies us with San Antonio,” said Monticello President Todd Brockwell in a news release. “We are a San Antonio based firm with deep roots in this dynamic city. This is our home. We believe the name 1900 Wealth signifies all of those things.”
The future building, developed by Milam Real Estate Capital LLC, will include eight levels of office space along with retail shops and a restaurant on the ground floor. Construction is expected for completion by third quarter 2022.
Joeris General Contractors is building the project designed as a collaboration between Don McDonald Associates of San Antonio and HKS of Dallas. The bank tapped Gensler for interior design. JLL will handle office leasing while CBRE will lease retail spaces.
“We’re looking forward to the name change and housing 1900 Wealth under the same roof with us in our new headquarters,” said Jefferson Bank President Paul McSween III in the release. “We are proud of the growth Monticello — now 1900 Wealth — has achieved since its founding six years ago. The new offices will allow plenty of room for expansion and greater convenience for our shared clients.”
1900 Wealth attracted more than 50 new clients last year and now represents more than 250 clients with $1.6 billion in assets under management. It so far has brought on 37 new clients this year. The firm, while focused on the San Antonio area, has plans to expand its reach out to Hill Country communities such as Fredricksburg and Kerrville.
“This is an exciting time for our firm, but I want to strongly assure our clients they will detect no changes in their interactions with us, other than name, logo and a beautiful, convenient new location,” Brockwell said. “We have always felt the exceptional service and added value we provide leads to enhanced rapport, trust and lifelong relationships, and we only intend to build on those tenets in coming years.”
