San Antonio-Centric Monticello Wealth Rebrands as “1900 Wealth,” Pledges Continuing, Consistently Exceptional Service for Existing and Prospective Clients

SAN ANTONIO—June 15, 2021. San Antonio-based investment advisor Monticello Wealth Management (Monticello) today announced it will become “1900 Wealth” and said the firm will move its offices next year into the new Jefferson Bank headquarters under construction at 1900 Broadway Street in the heart of San Antonio. The full name of the company is 1900 Wealth Management LLC, but it will be known simply as “1900 Wealth.”

“We wanted to simplify our name and change it to something that signifies the location of our new headquarters and directly identifies us with San Antonio,” said Monticello President Todd Brockwell. “We are a San Antonio based firm with deep roots in this dynamic city. This is our home. We believe the name ‘1900 Wealth’ signifies all of those things.”

Jefferson Bank is the parent company of 1900 Wealth. “We’re looking forward to the name change and housing 1900 Wealth under the same roof with us in our new headquarters,” said Jefferson Bank President Paul McSween III.  “We are proud of the growth Monticello—now 1900 Wealth—has achieved since its founding six years ago. The new offices will allow plenty of room for expansion and greater convenience for our shared clients.”

Construction of the new Jefferson Bank Building at 1900 Broadway is projected for completion in the third quarter of 2022. It will feature retail shops and a restaurant on the ground floor, topped by eight levels of office space. The 1900 Wealth headquarters will be located on the 10th floor, with beautiful unobstructed views of the historic Pearl District and Fort Sam Houston.

Brockwell said the new name will not have an impact on current or prospective clients or their portfolios, and feels they will continue to enjoy the same high level of personalized service from the same experienced team they are accustomed to at Monticello. The only changes will be the name, logo and location (in 2022). The current Monticello website will be redirected to www.1900Wealth.com, where it will be refreshed to reflect the name change and any applicable new content, and conversion of employees’ email addresses to the new 1900Wealth.com domain. The old Monticello email addresses will also remain functional moving forward.

Monticello Wealth Management has achieved impressive success since its founding in 2015. Although 2020 was a challenging year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the firm continued to grow its business, expand its client base, improve client satisfaction, and achieve strong growth in assets under management (AUM). Brockwell believes that was due to employees’ sharpening their focus on communicating effectively with clients and prospective clients, using a straightforward, transparent approach to investing. Despite the pandemic’s challenges, the firm reached over $1.32 billion in total AUM at year end 2020.

Those trends are holding true in 2021. As of May 31, Monticello has added 37 new clients and achieved AUM of $1.6 billion.  This growth was driven by a combination of new clients, account growth and a new sub-advisory agreement that allows investment managers to offer clients new funds to achieve specific investment objectives.

Looking ahead, 1900 Wealth will continue building its alternative and direct investment offerings, such as private equity, venture capital and real estate. By year’s end, the firm will likely add at least one and possibly two new full-time senior investment advisors to accommodate growth and strive to continue high-caliber, personalized customer service. While maintaining concentration on Greater San Antonio as its primary market, 1900 Wealth will also seek to expand its reach into nearby Hill Country communities including Fredericksburg and Kerrville, and possibly into South Texas.
